Talia is passionate about designing equitable and child-centered education programs. During 15 years of experience in non-formal education, public health education and sport for development, she has built experience in facilitation, curriculum design, gender inclusion, MEL, sexual and reproductive health education, and skateboarding for social good. In the role of Programs Director for the international NGO Skateistan from 2013-2021, she co-designed and implemented socially inclusive programs applying sports, mental wellness and education for children in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Africa. In 2020-2021, Talia worked on a team with the Goodpush Alliance to design and launch the Commitment to Anti-Racism in Skateboarding. Talia sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Sport for Development and holds a Master’s of Education with a focus on Indigenous Education from Queen's University, Ontario. When not working she can be found skateboarding and learning how to surf.
