Supported by a Canada Graduate Scholarship, Cheryl Heykoop is a doctoral candidate in the faculty of social and applied sciences at Royal Roads University. An advisor to the International Institute for Child Rights and Development (IICRD), as well as a researcher for the Makerere University's Refugee Law Project in Uganda, Heykoop has spent a decade working with young people in Africa and Southeast Asia to better understand their experiences and perspectives about issues that affect them. Her video project highlights her work exploring meaningful child engagement methods for post-conflict truth-telling with children in northern Uganda
