Creating a Child Protection Program in Timor Leste

Using the Circle of Rights, IICRD worked with Unicef Child Protection Unit Timor Leste, Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Department for National Reinsertion, Timor Leste to:

• Conduct participatory research with young people, families and service providers on child protection issues and possibilities
• Create a Child Protection Strategy for Timor Leste based on these findings
• Train Timor's first cohort of social workers on strength based approaches to child protection
• Support the implemenation of the new child protection strategy
