Kate Butler, Ph.D., is the Child Rights & Protection Advisor at Save the Children Canada. She is passionate about children’s rights here in Canada and around the world. Kate has over a decade’s worth of experience as a researcher, human rights advocate, and educator. Much of her work has focused on the rights of youth in and from government care, and the systems that create structural vulnerability for these young people. She also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Canadian Coalition for Children’s Righs & the Chair of Hope 24/7, a sexual assault centre in the Peel region. In her spare time, she loves hanging out with her three kids and partner in the parks and playgrounds of east-end Toronto.
